The City of East Point is “Going Green”
EAST POINT, GEORGIA (May 19, 2008) - - The City of East Point is pleased to announce an initiative to inspire and encourage everyone to “Go Green” as we increase awareness of our recycling efforts. All residents, local area businesses, municipal staff, families, friends and neighbors are encouraged to join us Saturday, May 24, 2008, 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the Norman Berry Recycling Center, which is located at 1685 Norman Berry Drive (corner of Norman Berry and Spring Street).
Items that will be collected at no cost will include: paper, aluminum, glass, cardboard, plastic, and electronic items. Electronic items include: computers, monitors, laptops, copiers, printers, fax machines, disk drive, floppy drives, modems, mice, keyboards, circuit boards, CD ROMs, scanners, telephones, cell phones, VCRs, stereos, MP3 players, CD players, 8-tracks, portable radios, DVD players, video machines, camcorders, cameras, televisions, CB radios, alarm clocks, can openers, test & networking equipment, electrical panels, typewriters, UPS, battery back-up, cables and wires and projectors. There is a $5.00 fee to recycle television sets.

There will be students from Amario's Art Academy for the Gifted and Talented painting a mural. Also, complimentary refreshments will be served.
