We noticed this has opened up in the Virginia Gateway Center on Norman Berry. Anyone been yet?

The Irish Bread Pub shown on
The Irish Bread Pub shown on the web address below is incorrect. That is the Rex one.
the one here is next to McDonalds and it has potential. the smoke bothers some people but the circulation was fixed.
They have a great Grilled Chicken Salad. Big screen tv's to gather to have fun. Drinks are good. I know the owner.

I went the week after it
I went the week after it opened. It is ok. Not much Irish about it really, typical bar food. I had the nachos with chili and they were ok. Good beer selection but didn't put the prices for the beer on the menu (which I HATE). There is a pool table there and a really big large screen TV, so might be a good place to watch a game. The parking set up is weird and probably in violation of ADA. You have to park in back and then walk all the way around to the front to enter. Staff seemed friendly. You can tell this is the old B-52's in some respects, because they are definately going for a younger, more club like atmosphere. They do have trivia as well as karioke (sp) and poker too I think. They do allow smoking, which may mean they don't allow kids under 18 (which is the law). I saw and smelled people smoking there, so that is a bummer.
All in all, if I wanted a bar experience I'd still go to the Corner Tavern over this place, unless I had a big group that wanted to watch a game or didn't feel up to tackling the stairs at the Tavern. Or if I wanted to go for one of their theme nights (anyone up for Trivia?)
